Abstract: The importance of providing and managing resources for enhancing quality education cannot be overemphasized. It is one thing to provide resources, it is another to ensure that the resources are well managed. This paper explored the availability as well as the management of material and physical resources to ensure quality education in the junior education system in Akwa Ibom state. Three research questions were posed in the study and two research instruments used to collect data from random sample of 30 school head and 30 JSS 3 teachers. Analysis of the result revealed that there was still generally acute shortage of resources both materials and physical in the schools. Result further indicated that the few available resources were not well managed by the teachers and the school heads, which accounted for the low quality of education in JSS 3. From the findings, it has become increasingly necessary that a lot has to be done if quality education is to be ensured in the JSS 3. This therefore calls on the government to make available, material resources to schools, at the same time teachers’ need to develop skills on how to manage the available resources.
